How to Identify Search Words
When researching a topic, it is important to use precise search terms, and to think about possible synonyms. For example, if you search for "pupil," you might also want to search for "student." The Library of Congress (LC) Subject Headings or the ERIC Thesaurus can help you find subject headings or descriptors that can help you think about the breadth and depth of your topic.
